The new season of the DRS Sim Rally started at the legendary Monte Carlo stages, with 73 competitors starting in the first round.
Portuguese Miguel Nóbrega on Ford Fiesta R5 starts the season good and wins both OPEN and R5 rankings. 8.6 seconds behind it, the Ford Fiesta R5 driven by Roland Biro-Ambrus finished second. Podium of the first round was closed by another Portuguese driver, Ricardo Santos on the Ford Fiesta R5, 37.2 seconds behind from leader.
A solid victory was get by Przemek Rudski-Ford Fiesta R2T. The polish driver was almost two minutes faster than Robert Prepeliță-Ford Fiesta R2T who finished second. With the same car, Finnish driver ESA Ahonen takes the 3rd place in class.
A Portuguese also wins in H2 Classics. Simao Pereira-Fiat 131 Abarth had a close battle with Andrei Padure-Alpine A110S, the difference between the two being at the end of the race for almost 4 seconds. Radu Tamas-Ford Escort MK2 comes on 3rd almost two minutes behind Pereira.
In the overall standings, Nóbrega is the leader with 25 points, followed by Biro with 20 points and Santos with 18 points.
The second round has already started, with gravel stages in New England being prepared for the DRS Sim Rally competitors, round which will end on April 2.
